Austin Wedding Day

Fancy software and filters, in the end only give you an image; the real magic of capturing the best moments of your wedding is when the artistry, passion and consistent quality I provide, are combined behind my lens.
Hard drives, thumb drives, and now, THE cloud. These are fine to store information, and even your wedding pictures, but picture this! The holidays are here, and family is gathered around the fireplace. You produce this beautiful album with your wedding pictures, and while you eat, drink and are merry, you relive the wedding moments with those who mean the world to you. The joy of seeing them flip the pages, bringing the album over to grandma. Having friends recount their favorite moments. You can't do it digitally! These gorgeous albums come in a variety of covers and sizes and make the perfect gift that will be treasured forever!

"Svetlana, just wanted you to know that I have received the wedding album today and it is wonderful, incredible, awesome and beyond fantastic! Can you tell I like it? It is a treasure which we will enjoy looking at over and over again throughout the years!"

My name is Svetlana Frolova. I am a Russian native with a home base in Austin, Texas.
In Russia, I attended the Linguistic University of Nizhny Novgorod where I studied English and French. Upon graduating in 2002, I decided to pursue the “American Dream” and came to the States with only $300 in my pocket! It was only a few years later, when I was traveling in India with a non-profit called The Miracle Foundation and volunteered at one of their orphanages , that I developed a love and passion for photography.
Photography is all about the manipulation of light. It seems only natural to me that I became a photographer as my name, Svetlana, in Russian means “light”.
Since then, I have photographed hundreds of weddings and made several good friends as a result of my profession.
My great adventure reached its pinnacle while I was working a wedding in 2013. A bride introduced me to her very handsome cousin, Ben, right after he caught the garter. Two years later we were married!
As our love has grown, so has our family. In 2016 we welcomed the little love of our lives, our darling baby Sasha.
Yes, you will receive high resolution edited files with personal printing rights.
I photograph and edit each wedding personally. Some larger studios hire photographers with little to no experience in an effort to keep their prices low and their profits high. While their portfolio might look great, you do not have the guarantee that you will receive the level of service and the high quality images that you should expect. It is important that the person you talk to is going to be the photographer at your wedding.
This is entirely up to you. You have the option of just hiring me or adding a second photographer who also acts as an assistant at times to ease the flow of the wedding. A second photographer might be needed if the bride and groom are getting ready in two different places. Having two photographers allows for different angles of the same scene during the wedding. The hour after the ceremony is usually the time having a second photographer is key when the lead photographer is doing the formals and the second shooter captures the cocktail hour.
A 'first look' is when a bride and groom see each other before the wedding ceremony. First look wedding photos are becoming very popular and I highly recommend them! It gives you a private moment and opportunity to express your emotions which always helps calm the nerves. I have never had a couple regret it. Every couple who chose to go this route said it was their favorite part of the day and seeing each other before going down the aisle did not take away from the emotions of the ceremony. As a bonus, you will have more pictures together, be less rushed after the ceremony and have more time to spend with the guests!
I have a high image quality standard that must be met in order for them to make it within your final gallery. I usually take as many pictures of the same pose as I need to get the perfect shot. That is the beauty of digital photography! Therefore, I do not include the duplicate photos, blinks, blurs, and wrong exposure. This makes it easier for you to pick your favorite images and I assure you that there is nothing you would miss in the editing process!
Between Us | Entre Nous | Think Victoria's Secret kind of photos: timeless, classy, elegant, for his eyes only.
We know that a lot of attention is given to the bride, the bridal party, and the theme and the décor; there is also a way for you to give a special gift to your future husband. Something that will convey to him that you are his, and proud to be so. A gift he will treasure.
One of the prevalent misconceptions of Boudoir photography is that it will cast the bride in the wrong light - pardon my pun. But seriously, that is an incorrect assumption. Boudoir photography presents you to him in a more intimate, but tasteful setting. Most of all, it will let him know, even though a lot of attention was on you - you were thinking about him and the life you are starting together. And what a great way to celebrate yourself at this unique moment of your life!
It can be a sweet and simple shoot at your favorite location(s) or it can be something stylized and more formal or something that reflects your interests and passions. This is completely up to you! Are there any places that are significant to you? Do you like nature or do you prefer an urban scene? Is there a favorite place where you go frequently on dates, where you went for your first date, where the proposal took place? All of these can be fun locations for a shoot. If you cannot decide, I will be happy to recommend some great locations.
There are two phrases I hear when the subject of bridal portraits comes up:
1. "I don't have time"
2. "I wish I would have done the bridal portraits" (usually after the wedding)
So let's not live with regret and let's get them done! They are such fun sessions anyway. Think of it as a trial run for your hair, makeup, and dress a few weeks before the wedding day! If your schedule absolutely does not allow this, consider adding an additional hour to your wedding day coverage.
It is such an honor and privilege to capture the memories of the wedding day! To reserve your date I require a signed contract and non-refundable retainer. Please email me for details.
My passion for photography, and the drive to capture the best moments of life are what guide the artistry and inspiration for my photography. Through my lens, it is not a photo that I take, but rather, a permanent lovely snippet of your life’s own story. I do this in a unique way by blending candid shots that reflect your connection, with artistically posed ones.

It was here that I fell in love with photography - wedding photography specifically.

Since then, I have photographed hundreds of weddings and made several good friends as a result of my profession. As a person who likes being behind the camera more than being the subject, I understand how unnatural it can be. That is why I like to get to know my couples on a personal level so they feel more comfortable- my favorite weddings are the ones I walk away from with new friends.

During our free time, my husband and I love to cook together. I am also a classically trained pianist who loves to garden, do yoga and brew her own kombucha.
Additionally, I have made it my mission in life and in my business to care for the world we live in by being committed to environmental practices that foster a sustainable future. I am recognized by the City of Austin as a Platinum Green Business Leader and it is something that I care very deeply about.

Although I have photographed hundreds of weddings, I too have been a bride myself. I truly understand the stress of wedding planning, feeling uncomfortable in front of the camera. I aim to help you relax and I know I will make you feel comfortable and ready for pictures. Before long, you will be looking forward to the next click of my camera. I am proud to say that many of my clients become and continue to be my friends to this day.
